Exterior design example of Fujinoya Yutei, a ryokan in Isawa Onsen
Art direction for the entrance bridge area, which will become the new face of the ryokan.
Fujinoya Ryokan is located in Isawa Onsen, a representative hot spring resort in Yamanashi Prefecture. World Space Solutions Co., Ltd., a member of the World Group, handled the exterior art direction and signage planning for the new face of the ryokan.
Fujinoya Ryokan has a Japanese-style main building and a Western-style annex. The new “bridge” that spans from the courtyard to the entrance to the new lodging building will play its role as an approach to a special time spent in this place. The design of the bridge was commissioned to Yu Momoeda Architects. The way the trees are connected in an orderly manner and the gentle curves created by the fence and bridge create a high-quality look. The sign layout was designed in a size and location that is easy to see even from the top of the slope for the lead line that leads from the ground line downhill to the entrance.
