World Co., Ltd. will open a POP-UP shop “246st.MARKET (Nyonroku Street Market)” that attracts attention as a limited-time store for 16 days from the first day of opening to July 9 (Thursday) at Newman Yokohama, which will open at the JR Yokohama Tower at the west exit of Yokohama Station on Wednesday, June 24, 2021.

"246st.MARKET" is an initiative that World started at the World Kita-Aoyama Building last fall, and this is the first external store opening. We will curate 11 brands by young creators who usually sell mainly on SNS and online, and organize the sales floor as one market.

Last year, World launched the "Creators Support Program" with the aim of "supporting the diverse ideas and challenges of the next-generation fashion industry." As part of this, “246st.MARKET” will continue to develop in various ways as a platform that connects young creators and customers, including online community creation and a sustainable sales floor configuration composed of reusable fixtures.

Bringing together young creator brands that sell mainly on SNS and online

For the event, we created a curation and space for “adult women who love the city and the sea”, assuming local customers in Yokohama. We have "personalized," "ethical," and "craftsmanship" supported by adult women who are highly interested in new value, and we have "manufacturing that is unique and considers the environmental impact" and "products with a story where you can see the creator's face."

Online workshops and Instagram live will seamlessly connect the store and the customer's home

During the event, the designers and creators who are the creators will stand at each store and sell while conveying their thoughts to customers. In addition, we will actively hold online workshops and Instagram live talk events from the official website ( https://www.246stmarket.com/ ) and Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/2_t_w_o_2/ ) so that many customers can participate in “246st.MARKET”, not just those who actually visit the store.

The original fixtures that make up the venue are designed to be reusable under the theme of "sustainability".

"246st.MARKET" is also based on the concept of "sustainability" in the production of the venue, and in a space that minimizes environmental impact and costs, it connects the desires of the creators and the needs of the buyers. The fixtures were designed for 246st.MARKET by architect Masaru Momoeda, who has designed many places such as co-working spaces and share houses that serve as hubs for people to gather and interact. It is made of a combination of folding screen-shaped side plates and flexible shelf boards, and can be folded like a folding screen when stored.
